Craig Jones the 23-year old motorcycle racer, originally from Northwich in Cheshire and more recently from Peterborough, tragically lost his life on Sunday August 3rd 2008, following a high-speed crash during the World Supersport Championship race at Brands Hatch in Kent.
Craig, who was in second place at the time of the incident, was one of Britain’s brightest hopes and gained numerous race victories and awards during his career, including the British Senior Mini-Moto Championship, the 2002 British Junior Superstock Championship and in 2003 he was awarded the Steve Hislop Young Rider of the Year Memorial Trophy.
In the 2005 British Supersport Championship Craig finished as runner-up, before moving on to World Supersport in 2006.
